Ni-Steel
The ever increasing demand for energy is forcing natural gas more and more into the foreground.
The most economic alternative for transportation over long distances is in its liquid state since liquefaction reduces the gas volume by a factor of 600.
The transportation and storage of liquid natural gas and other liquid gases however requires extremely low temperatures from down to -320°F. The water quenched cryogenic nickel steel from ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe fulfils all requirements placed on steels for liquid gas containers today. Its high nickel alloying content up to 9% ensures toughness at the lowest temperatures and thus forms the basis for the safe transportation of liquid gas.
We supply the right steel for each temperature range and its respective area of application.
