Heavy plate mill

The heavy plate mill in Duisburg-Süd began operation in the early 1960s.

The centerpiece of the mill, the four-high stand, was installed in 1978 and features hydraulic gauge control and work roll bending to achieve very close thickness tolerances and good flatness.

Over the years, continuous investment has been made in the main units and today the plate mill is among the most advanced in the world.
